<p><strong>Mark Christopher Bauer</strong> (born October 28, 1966) is an American film and television actor.</p>
<p>Bauer was born in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Miramonte High School in Orinda, California, in 1984, playing on the Championship football team of the same year. Later, he attended the University of San Diego and graduated from the Yale School of Drama.</p>
<p>Bauer played Lloyd Gettys in the 1997 movie <i>The Devil&#8217;s Advocate</i>, and appeared as the masked character &#8220;Machine&#8221; in the film <i>8mm</i> which starred Nicolas Cage. He is perhaps best known for his starring role in the second season of HBO&#8217;s original series <i>The Wire</i> as Frank Sobotka and Billy Crystal&#8217;s directorial debut, 61*. On network television, he played Fred Yokas, husband of Officer Faith Yokas, on the NBC series <i>Third Watch</i> from 1999 to 2005. Bauer also played lead FBI Agent Dodd on the short-lived CBS series Smith, and on the Sci-Fi channel, he appeared in the original miniseries <i>The Lost Room</i> In the independent film world, he starred in the movie <i>Neal Cassady</i> as the famous author Ken Kesey.</p>
